Flight Test Certification of Then-Major Joseph Laughlin, September 1943

Title

Flight Test Certification of Then-Major Joseph Laughlin, September 1943

Subject

One of several instrument flight tests Colonel Laughlin would complete in the Army Air Corps

Description

In order to make sure pilots were combat ready and effective, the Army Air Corps required Instrument Flight Tests be completed every six months. This one, completed during the 362nd Fighter Group's training at Groton Army Air Field in Massachusetts, is significant because it was the only time then-Lt. George Rarey was listed as his Instrument Check Pilot.
